Watch The Video For Adele’s Brand New Single ‘Hello’
she’s baaaaack
Guys, take a good look at your surroundings. Years from now, when your kids are hoverboarding off to college, and your cars are driving themselves to work, people will wonder: "Where were you when you first heard "Hello"? That's how monumental Friday's release of Adele's first single since 2012 feels. It's a moment.
After gifting us with one of the most universally acclaimed, best-selling, and most deeply felt albums of our generation, the tornado-voiced U.K singer went on an extended hiatus because as she so deftly put it, "Life got in the way." Well, Adele is back, and by god was it worth the wait.
"Hello", the lead single off her upcoming album 25, is a mournful plea to an ex-lover, who's played by 90210's Tristan Wilds in the accompanying music video, directed by Xavier Dolan of Mommy fame. "It was incredible working with him," Adele told Apple Beats 1 radio host Zane Lowe of her collaboration with the Montreal wunderkind. "I learned a lot and it made me want to be an actress. He had me crying and acting... and I’m really, really proud of it. It’s not like a groundbreaking video in terms of effects and dance moves, but it’s my best video and I'm so proud of it."
25 is out November 20. Watch the brand new Adele video (yes, this is real life) above.
