In a society that tries to celebrate individuality, we love to classify and categorize people. Rapper Angel Haze, however, is setting out to change all of that. Since releasing a series of mixtapes on the internet six years ago, the 22-year-old has been challenging social norms: Haze stands as a figurehead for androgyny and fluid sexuality. Here, we talk to the Boohoo spokesperson about music, fashion, and "ongoing awkward phases."

Do you remember the moment you decided music was your calling? Was there a certain song or show you saw?

Yeah, there were lots of them. I mostly decided to do music though because I needed a way to make lots of money and stay away from home, and all the musicians get to see the world. You know, that's what I thought about as a kid. Getting lost in the world, making art, and hearing everything. I think it's pretty cool I get to do both.

Did you ever have an awkward phase?

I am an ongoing awkward phase.

What is the most versatile piece of the collection?

There was a clear jacket I wore during the shoot that was edgy and trench coat-ish—super cute, super unisex.

What is one BOLD fashion trend you are super excited about?

Androgyny on both sides of gender.
