BANKS’ New Song “Gemini Feed” Will Dominate August Playlists
And play on repeat
BANKS is leaving little to the imagination when it comes to her hotly anticipated sophomore album, The Altar. After gifting us with the writhing earworm "Better" last November, the singer-songwriter followed that up with the infectious "Fuck With Myself," and its goth-heavy music video, last month.
On Tuesday, BANKS premiered a third track from her upcoming album, this time on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show. "Gemini Feed" is a rollicking anthem about relationship struggles that puts the singer's trademark husky vocals front and center.
The sudden resurgence has been a long time coming for the L.A.-based artist, whose debut album Goddess was one of 2014’s most pleasant surprises. Now she’s back and ready for fans to embrace her new music. “It feels surreal having people hear one of my children that I’ve been working on,” Banks told Mac about “Gemini Feed.” As for her new album, BANKS told the host that she "wants to take up space,” when it comes to her lyrics. "I just had so much to write about, this album for me is really kind of like a metamorphoses of me coming into my own.”
BANKS officially comes into her own when The Altar drops on September 30. Listen to "Gemini Feed" above.
