What's black, white, and printed all over? Checkerboard, of course! Whether you were a MySpace addict in high school or a skater (or anything in between really), checkerboard-printed clothing and accessories (you know, those slip-on Vans you wore every single day until there were holes in them) were a part of your everyday wardrobe.
Well, lucky for us, the print is back and better (read: more grown-up) than ever. The good thing is that even if you're scared to bring back this trend in a big way, you can do it in small amounts like on a pair of socks or a bag. Or do a subtle hint of the print on a sweatsuit. The classic black-and-white pattern feels '60s mod meets '90s grunge but still winds up feeling very modern. Depending on the silhouette or way you wear it, checkerboard items can also channel a very different vibe each time they're worn—talk about sartorial versatility!
