The Teaser For ‘GLOW’ Is A Whirlwind Of Neon, Glitter And Spanx

Have you ever gotten a thrill out of watching wrestling? Either way, you're about to with Netflix's latest installment. The streaming platform released the first teaser for GLOW, a new dramedy series that follows Alison Brie's fictional journey as a struggling and unemployed actress living in Los Angeles who is hungry for stardom. Somehow, her character stumbles into the world of wrestling, and her life is changed forever. 

The television program is set in the 1980s, so you can expect a whirlwind of disco throwbacks. If you have a thing for glitter and Spandex, this show was made for you to consume in full. The cast also includes Ellen Wong, Betty Gilpin, and Marc Maron. 

GLOW is based on the true story about the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (G.L.O.W.), a professional wrestling league based in Las Vegas that was popular during the era. Most of the women came from acting, modeling, dancing, and stunt backgrounds, but veered into wresting as a way into show business.

The first season of GLOW is slated to premiere on Netflix on June 23. Watch the short teaser in the video, above.
