It Was All About Gothic Glamour At The amfAR Red Carpet

Morticia Addams, eat your heart out

by Jenna Igneri

This evening, amfAR’s 23rd Cinema Against AIDS Gala took place in Cap D’Antibes, France, just outside of the Cannes Film Festival. As expected, we saw a slew of gorgeous gowns, but the trend that we didn't see coming? Super gothic black gowns.

These weren’t just any old black gowns. No, these ladies looked like goth goddesses.

Stunning details, from sheer lace paneling to crystal-encrusted embroideries, adorned these looks. From the tassel-heavy Balmain gown worn by Sasha Luss, who arrived on the arm of Olivier Rousteing no less, to the intricately detailed sheer Roberto Cavalli look Natasha Poly wore, it was all about dark details tonight. Given that it's National Goth Day this Sunday, it seems only right.

Click through the gallery below to take a closer look at what the goth ladies of Cannes chose to wear to tonight’s gala.
