Cate Blanchett Is Evil Villain Gold In The New Trailer For ‘Thor: Ragnarok’

This looks like it might be, dare we say, good

What is Thor without his hammer thing? Pretty pointless as far as superheroes go, no? That’s his whole shtick! Well, in the first trailer for Thor: Ragnarok, we see just what happens when he’s left vulnerable.

We also see what happens when Hela, played by the devastatingly fierce Cate Blanchett, comes into power. You see, she’s the one responsible for smashing the God of Thunder’s Mjolnir weapon into a million pieces. She also imprisons him on the other side of the universe, all while Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” plays in the background. This is Blanchett’s film; the rest are just accessory characters honestly.

We also witness appearances from Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as one of the Elders of the Universe, and a comeback from Tom Hiddleston who plays Thor’s adopted brother Loki. The final scene in the trailer is maybe the best, though, as we see Thor go up against The Incredible Hulk. “Yes! We know each other! He’s a friend from work,” Chris Hemsworth, who plays the titular character, says enthusiastically. Eh, not so much buddy.
