Video Premiere: Cash Cash “Surrender”
featuring the most sensual hangover known to man
What to do after hitting gold, working with Goo Goo Dolls frontman John Rzeznik, and debuting at #5 on iTunes Dance with their hit “Take Me Home”? Well, you keep going of course.
Cash Cash—the best friend-brother conglomerate known for their ability to make even the most ambiguous of electronic fans sing along—is starting the year off right with a track (and video) that establishes its own identity among the rest. In the past, we’ve seen the trio produce original vocals atop their infamous hard-hitting beats, but this time around they’ve lent the mic to a female counterpart, Julia Michaels. The result is a grown-up revamp of the youthful pop-synth reputation they’ve already created for themselves.
While we’re well aware of the surplus of EDM mega-hits constantly weaving through music’s never-ending charts, let Cash Cash’s “Surrender” assure you there will never be a shortage of something to dance to. The track is a well-oiled rendition of what high-energy chart toppers of yesteryear have been trying to achieve. (Think infectious rather than catchy.) Even better, the video itself is 3 minutes and 30 seconds of vibrant NSFW imagery, starting when the band pulls up to a sunlit mansion housing a group of nearly-naked twenty-somethings with the most sensual hangovers of all time.
So sit back, relax, and surrender to our new favorite EDM jam. Pun absolutely intended.
