National Violin Day!
News of the Day:
+ Chance the Rapper is about to make you get in the tub in the middle of the day with his new playlist, curated specifically for bathtime. Available exclusively on Apple Music, the "Yup" playlist was made with self-care in mind. Chance's instructions for listening are simple: get in the tub, press shuffle, and treat yourself.
I been neglecting myself, not taking care of me. I take a shower everyday. But when is it Bath time? Now. https://t.co/qByahjOzVw— Lil Chano From 79th (@chancetherapper) December 12, 2016
+ Viola Davis gave an incredible speech after accepting the Critics' Choice #SeeHer Award. If you need an example of a phenomenal woman, Davis embodies just that. Her acceptance speech can be summed up in one phrase: love all of oneself.
+ A new database called "Unerased" has launched to remember the lives of transgender people who were murdered in violent acts. MIC, in partnership with NYC's Anti-Violence Project, created the project to allow people to learn about the 100+ individuals who have been killed in hate crimes and bring to light the fact that trans people are far more likely to be murdered than any other group.
+ Don't call it a comeback, but after five years of waiting, Nelly Furtado will be releasing her sixth studio album, The Ride. The '00s legend released her first single from the project, "Pipe Dreams," but the full album won't be available until March 31. Seeing how she's collaborated with artists like Dev Hynes and St. Vincent, we think it will be well worth the wait.
+ Little Simz is making big moves in the music industry today, dropping a new single, "Poison Ivy," and announcing the release date for her new album. Stillness In Wonderland officially drops on December 16.
