8@8: Your Morning Scoop

One woman reportedly faked her own death to get a free dress

Today is...

Plus Size Appreciation Day!

News of the Day:

+ A woman named Jennifer has reportedly faked her own death in hopes of snatching a free dress from the clothing brand LulaRoe. The brand exposed her on Facebook a couple of days ago, after receiving some suspicious messages, and asked for advice on how to handle the supposed "death" of a customer. It hasn't been confirmed whether Jennifer's account was hacked, but it definitely goes to show how far people are willing to go. You can read the story here for the full scoop.

+ The second season of Stranger Things is less than a month away, but if you just can't wait any longer for it to air, you can check out the new Stranger Things mobile game available in the App Store and Google Play. The game is just as retro as you might expect, and the whole objective is to collect Eggos while fighting off Hawkins Lab enforcers and exploring the Upside Down. You can check out Stranger Things: The Game here, and count down the days until October 27 rolls around!

+ If you're looking for a way to help out hurricane victims, dine at one of these 150 participating restaurants across the country where a portion of the proceeds will go to relief efforts in Puerto Rico. Restaurants include Otto NYC, Mission Chinese Food in San Francisco, and many more hotspots across the nation. So, if you've ever needed a reason to spoil yourself and overindulge on dinner, this is it.

+ M.A.C just surprised us with miniature-sized versions of its beloved lipsticks, with a miniature price point! The collection is part of the brand's Little M.A.C line, and it's absolutely perfect for those of us who love low-commitment makeup. The beauty mogul made sure to also include cult classic shades like Ruby Woo and Velvet Teddy, with the rest of the collection including signature Lip Glasses, pigments, and other makeup essentials, all for $10. Check it out here!

+ Kesha paid tribute to the late Tom Petty by covering his 1991 hit, "Into The Great Wide Open," at the House of Blues on Wednesday night. She dubbed it "one of the greatest songs ever written," and gave a super-touching performance of the song. Check it out, below.
