John Krasinski And Emily Blunt’s New Silent Horror Film Will Make You Want To Scream
‘A Quiet Place’ premieres next April
This year was a huge one for horror film enthusiasts. From the record-breaking remake of Stephen King’s It to Darren Aronofsky’s highly polarizing mother! and Jordan Peele's social thriller Get Out, the films released this year are certainly a tough act to follow. But one project coming next year might give these a run for their money, thanks to a chilling new trailer. We can already feel ourselves sweating.
A Quiet Place is John Krasinski’s third directorial debut and stars the actor alongside his IRL wife, Emily Blunt. Set on a remote farm, the two play the parents of a family terrorized by the supernatural. Noah Jupe and Wonderstruck actress Millicent Simmonds play the kids and, as is revealed in the trailer, their "quiet" life isn’t at all what it seems. Communicating solely through sign language, you can feel their fear of awakening whatever evil thing is lurking in their home through the small screen.
The clip itself features your typical horror film elements: fire, extensive house damage, corn fields, wooden crucifixes, a classic scary movie backtrack. The trailer also states a few ground rules: "Listen closely, move carefully, and never make a sound." Obviously, someone broke them.
Watch the trailer (if you dare), below. A Quiet Place premieres next April.
