Renée Zellweger Nominates Eddie Redmayne And Colin Firth For The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

it’s baaaaaack

Surprise, y’all! I bet you thought you’d seen the last of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. The hashtag activism is back and under a new moniker. Kindly allow Renée Zellweger introduce you to #EveryAugustUntilACure. Brace your Newsfeeds for a new déluge.

The actress is one of the first to get the chain of water dumping started in the celebrity circle. The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge was last summer’s biggest trend. It was all for a good cause, of course: To help find a cure for Lou Gehrig's disease. The videos were enjoyable and made for a round of thoughtful thought pieces on hashtag activism (and, well, droughts…).

Zellweger, following the rules, nominated Eddie Redmayne and Colin Firth to follow her suit. If they heed her call, expect many more videos of famous people pouring freezing water over their heads and hopefully donating money. (Plus, now’s the time get ample views of each celebrity’s backyard.)
