Metals Had A Moment At The New York amFAR Gala

So shiny

There's no better way to catch a red carpet best-dressed roundup's attention than metals and, well, skin. At last night's 19th annual amFAR gala in New York City, the former reigned supreme.

amFAR is one of the world's leading nonprofit organizations dedicated to AIDS research and HIV prevention and treatment. The unofficial kickoff to New York Fashion Week was complete with heartfelt speeches from Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, and Iman. Silvers, golds, and all things sparkly made Manhattan's traditional winter uniform (black) look like chump change. What else would you expect with Donatella Versace as one of the night's women of honor? She and her fashion house styled many of the night's attendees. It's enough to make us introduce a little sparkle to our own wardrobes. Hey, dreary times call for shiny measures.

All that glitters is gold, especially for Paris Hilton's Maria Lucia Hohan gown.
