Watch Anna Kendrick And James Corden Perform A Medley Of Famous Love Songs On The ‘Late Late Show’

Peak theater kids

James Corden and Anna Kendrick did this thing on the Late Late Show last night, where they reenacted the stages of a relationship through a medley of some of the most everlasting love songs. Introduced by Corden as a "Soundtrack to a Love Story," they began with Aretha Franklin’s “I Say a Little Prayer,” transitioned into Chris Burgh’s “Lady in Red,” and then into the number's highlight, The Weeknd's “I Can’t Feel My Face.” Their first night together was set to Boyz II Men’s “I’ll Make Love to You,” obviously. That was the falling in love part. Then came marriage, a cheating scandal, heartbreak, and eventually some form of reconciliation, set to ballsy numbers like Adele’s “Someone Like You” and Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.” Kendrick and Corden, both theater kids to the max, pulled them off flawlessly.

The two of them go way back. Kendrick was alongside Corden when he made his first North American splash as the baker in Into the Woods. She's also made several similar appearances on his show, performing a riff-off in 2015 and running through a history of sports movies in seven minutes, with some help from her Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates costars Zac Efron and Adam Devine, more recently.
