Ariana and The Rose Shows Us How To Preserve Our Inner Cool Kid

Remember how much fun Show + Tell was back in kindergarten? You’d get to bring in something cool from your home life, share it with all your friends at school, and tell them all about it. Worlds collided! It was the best. It’s how we made all our BFFs. Well, get ready for NYLON’s Show + Tell update, in which we ask our favorite artists to show us something from their lives and tell us all about it, leaving us all feeling like we’re friends for life. Or something like that.

Ariana DiLorenzo aka Ariana and the Rose is the ultimate cool girl who isn't afraid to show off her whimsical, childish side. The New York by way of London artist sets the bar high with a spontaneous combo of synth-pop and alt-rock tunes, which can be heard in full force on her latest single "Love You Lately."

We recently had the chance to sit down with DiLorenzo to get a glimpse inside her enchanting world in a game of Show and Tell. In addition to sharing one of her best finds from a Paris flea market, she revealed the meaning behind her Babar the Elephant tattoo.

DiLorenzo also told us about the power of New York as an energizing force that ignites her creativity. "It's kind of like whenever I feel a little bit lost or I need to kind of recenter myself, New York is the place for that," she says.
