Parahoy!: The Best Dressed On The Boat

where rainbow hair and doc martens are the norm

This past weekend, I was able to attend the second-ever Parahoy!, the Paramore fan cruise that sails from Miami to Cozumel, Mexico. The cruise is comprised of four days and nights of music and activities, hosted by various bands—this year including CHVRCHES, New Found Glory, and LIGHTS, among others—and, of course, Paramore. This year also saw some big news coming from Hayley Williams herself. The experience itself felt quite nostalgic and a bit like a time warp for me, with reminders of my early high school years everywhere. Even merely walking down the hallway to my room, I was faced with bands such as Good Charlotte and Lit blaring over the hallway loudspeakers.

Among the sea of longtime diehard Paramore fans, angsty teens (followed around by their parents, of course) that are just getting into the early-2000s pop punk, and a slew of drunken college students on their spring break, there were a few style stars that stood out from the crowd—rocking their very best pop punk fashion.

Dr. Martens and Vans took reign over more cruise-weather appropriate footwear, and for the first time in my life, my bright green hair was completely lost in a sea of rainbow-drenched hairstyles—neon and pastels were the norm, which lead to some serious hair envy on my part. While many chose to wear their swimsuits all day, some really put together their ultimate cruise attire and dressed to impress—with jumper dresses and quirky prints making quite the splash. I give them props, because to say it was windy is an understatement, with temperatures constantly hopping from scorching hot to chilly in a matter of minutes.

We saw a lot of denim on the boat, but this matching jumper dress and shoe combo was one of our favorites. Plus, that hair!
