You guys, we are really lucky Balenciaga decided to send down a bright red puffer coat on the runway this past fall season. Thanks to that instantly covetable coat, we don't have to worry this winter about finding something really cute that will also keep us nice and warm. Because we've all experienced that situation where we've bought that cute black coat, the one that isn't thick at all but we figure that if we have a huge scarf, a big hat, and a thick sweater underneath, we might actually be okay and able to survive anyway. That never ends well.
This year, though, with the puffer coat trend at a peak, it's time to get a wonderfully warm coat and not worry about feeling like you're dressing like a kid. Or, even worse, like you're someone who doesn't pay attention to trends in fashion. Need a word of advice before trying out this tricky trend? Make sure the puffer coat is either oversized or shrunken down. It's all about playing with proportion. We suggest going up a size or turning to a men's cut to make that fit look like the Balenciaga version.
