Watch The Full, Stunning ‘Black Panther’ Trailer

Happy early Black History Month

by Taylor Bryant

The first full-length trailer for Black Panther is here, and it’s brought with it an early celebration of Black History Month.

After a short teaser and a lot of hype, we finally get a glimpse into the wonderful world of Wakanda, where natural hair flourishes and Michael B. Jordan plays a pretty convincing bad guy. Chadwick Boseman is our titular hero who returns home in the wake of his father’s death to claim the throne. Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, and Danai Gurira, naturally, are the women helping to keep him in check. Forest Whitaker, Winston Duke, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, and Andy Serkis also make up the majority black cast.

Director Ryan Coogler is bringing us into a world of Afrofuturism and, from what we can tell, it looks promising. The visuals are stunning, the costumes are next level, and the action sequences look as realistic as Marvel's can look. The revolution may not be televised, but it will be live on the big screen come February 16. So, there’s at least one thing to look forward to in the new year.
