Brocade has a way of making our outfits feel elegant, no matter what look we’re going for. The thick, textured fabric, with elaborately detailed, sometimes extravagant prints—and normally just the slightest bit of sparkle—always has a rich feel to it. We saw different variations of brocade and jacquard on the fall and winter 2015 runways (especially in London), from rococo-esque prints at Mary Katrantzou to gorgeous embroidered silks at Erdem (and obviously, let’s not forget those killer boots from Dries van Noten). Off the runway, this trend is super shoppable. Whether it's being shown in florals, giving us more of a baroque vibe, or the brand has reinterpreted it with a modern twist, the attention to detail says enough and can make any outfit look like a million bucks, no matter what your budget is.
