CBS, bless their hearts, tried to keep us awake and watching the tube after Super Bowl 50. Starting with Stephen Colbert, the network offered up a full slate of all those late-night shows usually reserved for weekdays. We, being sane people, slumbered away dreaming of chili dip and Beyoncé. James Corden, however, was up and at work on the Late, Late Show with a special edition of his massively viral Carpool Karaoke.
This time it was Sir Elton John riding shotgun and teaching us how singing in the car is done. Naturally, the two blazed through some of Sir Elton’s bigger hits including “Tiny Dancer,” “Crocodile Rock,” and, perhaps the greatest love song ever penned, “Your Song.” But it the duo’s take on “The Circle of Life” from The Lion King that had us smiling through our morning coffee this AM.
Boas were employed to good ends, lion masks appeared, and everything was truly, truly fabulous. Witness above for yourself.
