The New Cat Power And Lana Del Rey Song Is A Self-Assured Anthem

Hear “Woman” and see the video here

by Sandra Song

Cat Power's back—and this time it's with the help of none other than Lana Del Rey.

Earlier this morning, Power shared "Woman," a single from her forthcoming album, Wanderer. And though Del Rey doesn't make a cameo in the accompanying Greg Hunt-directed music video, her backing vocals are ever-present. Power and Del Rey's smoky vocals complement each other extraordinarily well, as Del Rey weaves in and out and Power asserts over and over again, "I'm a woman of my word."

"Now haven’t you heard," she continues. "My word’s the only thing I’ve ever needed.” And we'll take it.

Wanderer is out October 5 via Domino Records. Watch the video for "Woman," below.
