CocoRosie And ANOHNI’s New Song Is A Call To Arms

“Smoke ‘em Out”

CocoRosie are gearing up to release a new album, but some fresh material of theirs just couldn't wait until then. It's called "Smoke 'em Out," and their timing couldn't have been more practical, considering it's loaded with political themes. "'Smoke ‘em Out' begged to be turned loose on the world now, as a means of participation during these turbulent yet invigorating times," CocoRosie's Bianca and Sierra Casady said in a statement. "In the wake of this unnatural disaster, we feel a call to rise, shout, and burn the house down." Hypothetically speaking, of course.

The new single aligns itself with this weekend's Women's March On Washington taking place in D.C., New York City, Los Angeles, and other cities across the country. It's a bold call to action for the Future Is Female movement, one they call "a very necessary force to be reckoned with." ANOHNI accompanies CocoRosie on the track, amplifying its urgency and message. Along with the new song, Bianca shared a poem to go along with it, which you can read below.
