Drake Throws A ‘Degrassi’ High School Reunion In New Video
The gang’s all here
Before Drake became Drake, he was known as Jimmy Brooks in certain Degrassi-loving circles; the basketball-playing cool kid who (spoiler but not really spoiler, because it’s been more than a decade) was tragically shot and ended up in a wheelchair. Today, our OVO king reminded us of his beginnings by bringing his Degrassi castmates back together for his new “I’m Upset” video.
We encounter Paige (Lauren Collins) and Ellie (Stacey Farber) stepping out of a car with suicide doors, Emma (Miriam McDonald) and Manny (Cassie Steele) adjusting their bras, Spinner (Shane Kippel) and Marco (Adamo Ruggiero) looking as fine as ever. His exes (on the show), Ashley (Melissa McIntyre) and Hazel (Andrea Lewis), and Nina Dobrev, who appeared later in the show, pop up as well. They’re apparently all there to celebrate their high school reunion—and get a little rowdy while doing so.
Even though the video finds the principal buying drugs, the crew spray painting the hallway, and the school eventually catching on fire, it’s still a lot tamer than Degrassi ever was. Stick around for the credits, when fans of the show will really get in their feelings. Drake pays tribute to his co-stars with side-by-side shots of them on the show versus now. Time flies when you’re adulting!
