Drew Barrymore’s Beauty Junkie Week Is Our Favorite Thing Ever
And her newest tip has us running to the store
Aside from being a mega-talented actress and producer with a career spanning practically her entire life, Drew Barrymore is also a beauty genius. And because she’s also an angel, the Flower Beauty founder has turned to Instagram to start her own week of beauty education, #BeautyJunkieWeek.
Since Saturday, she’s turned to the ‘gram to share some of her favorite tips and products. From pointing out that our beauty routines should also include our necks and chests to naming her favorite drinkable beauty products and under eye circle heroes, we’ve been taking some careful notes.
But perhaps her most interesting tip yet was a three-post-long love letter to aloe vera and how the meat from the plant “suctioned out the red” from her face when she placed it over an inflamed reaction she was having:
“Anyway, I tried the age old myth of aloe Vera. Nothing. Then figuring I had nothing to loose [sic], I dug out the meat of the live plant stalk, which I cut off a plant in my yard and then kept in the refrigerator to reuse, the juice you can squeeze out simply did nothing. So placed a small chunk of it right on my skin," she wrote. After leaving the meat directly on her skin for a couple of hours, she claims that the plant began turning red as the mark on her face began to lighten. And after trying this experiment for two days? The red spot was gone. Magic!
Well, we’ll definitely be trying this for ourselves—it’s about to be peak mosquito bite season, after all. What fun fact will she share with us next? We can't wait to see.
