The New Teaser For Christopher Nolan’s WWII Epic ‘Dunkirk’ Is A Tease Alright

Paging Harry Styles

There's one reason and one reason only to see Christopher Nolan's upcoming war extravaganza Dunkirk. It starts with an 'H' and ends with an 'arry Styles.' Jk, but the movie does mark the One Direction-er's acting debut. So when a bootleg version of its first teaser leaked online yesterday, it began popping up all over social media accounts dedicated to the star, despite the fact he does not appear in the one minute clip.

Warner Bros. counteracted the leak by releasing the crisp and clear official version, an intense clip that balances widescreen beauty with crackling intensity. Dunkirk tells the true story of the 1940 Battle of Dunkirk, which saw Allied forces on the brink of surrendering to Germany on the shores of Northern France in the early stages of World War II. Instead, they managed to stage a widescale evacuation, saving the lives of over 300,000 troops. The movie stars a murderer's row of British talent, including Kenneth Branagh, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, and Mark Rylance.

But back to Harry Styles. There's no telling how large or pivotal his role is, but that didn't stop One Direction fans from causing a fuss over his absence in the trailer, with many of them taking to social media to voice their displeasure. We just hope Christopher Nolan lets his character live, for everyone's sake.

Dunkirk hits theaters next July.
