Watch The First Full Trailer For Christopher Nolan’s ‘Dunkirk’
And, yes, so is Harry Styles
Harry Styles is, perhaps, the most hyped thing about Christopher Nolan's forthcoming World War II epic, Dunkirk. It's understandable considering how beloved he is by his Directioners, who surely all have a hole left to fill in their hearts following the band's indefinite hiatus. Thankfully, though, Nolan and his team aren't relying on Styles' star power to get people excited about the movie. And, really, after watching the first full trailer, they don't have to. Dunkirk looks freakin' amazing.
Nolan is tackling "the event that shaped our world" here. In late May/early June of 1940, the German forces had trapped the Allied forces on the northern coast of France. During a brief halt order from Germany, the Allied forces orchestrated an evacuation plan called Operation Dynamo, which ultimately saved more than 300,000 soldiers. This looks to be one of Nolan's more straightforward narratives, but who knows. The wizard of time travel and inception probably has a few tricks up his sleeve that'll really make ya think.
Dunkirk opens July 19 and stars Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Harry Styles, Kenneth Branagh, and Mark Rylance. Watch the trailer below.
