If daisy buchanan wore t-shirts…

by liza darwin

It should be obvious by now that the California girls over at Wildfox Couture are total pros at remixing pop culture faves for our closet. And although last season's Clueless-inspired pleated skirts, daisy prints, and "As If!" sweaters are still fresh on our minds, now it's time for a change. These days designer Kimberley Gordon is ditching '90s Beverly Hills for 1920s New York. The label's fall 2013 collection is inspired by The Great Gatsby (the book, the movie, and everything in between), but this time around there's a decidedly modern twist. Rather than going the super literal route, the brand stuck to its comfy-cool vision with tons of sparkles, bold prints, and tops stamped with sayings like "I made it through the Prohibition and all I got was this stupid t-shirt." Amen to that, right? T-shirts aren't exactly groundbreaking, but with ones this cute, even Daisy herself would want to get in on the game. Plus, while flapper dresses might be glam, let's be real— swingy cotton crewnecks are way more wearable. See the collection in action in this exclusive fashion video below.
