Here’s How Frank Ocean Does ‘Breakfast At Tiffany’s’

Can Frank Golightly be our Valentine?

by Hayden Manders

Frank Ocean keeps dropping songs unannounced, and it's beginning to be too much for this music lover's sanity. Prep work is the best work, especially when it comes to the majesty and mystery of Frank Ocean.

Regardless, here we are with a Valentine's Day gift from the man himself: a cover of "Moon River." Yes, like the one Audrey Hepburn sang as Holly Golightly on her fire escape in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Ocean infuses the 1961 classic by Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer with his trademark melancholy soul. It's just a bass guitar, electric guitar, and a swelling chorus of Ocean's layered crooning. He takes it home with a peppering of synths and strings.

Ocean kicked off the year with a post saying, "If you liked 2017, you’ll love… 2018." This right here is something to love. Since Ocean operates by way of the expect the unexpected mentality, we can count on there being more where this cover came from. Prepare accordingly... if you can.
