HAIM “Want You Back” In Their Good Graces
Another single off of ‘Something to Tell You’
Last week, HAIM finally returned and restored our faith in the music world with their first new track in three years. Now that they've finally broken their radio silence, the sister trio can't keep quiet and has unveiled another track off of their forthcoming follow-up album Something to Tell You. "Want You Back" premiered today on BBC 1 Radio on MistaJam's Hottest Record In The World, stopping everyone in their tracks to listen. HAIM season is officially in session, so buckle up for the ride.
The title of the Ariel Rechtshaid-produced track is pretty self-explanatory, but it's a fresh take on wanting to get back together with an old flame. (We've all been there one too many times, embrace those feelings.) HAIM managed to craft a perfect breakup anthem, but it's empowering and uplifting, so you won't feel like beating yourself up about things not working out the first time around. Este, Alana, and Danielle Haim told MistaJam that they consider "Want You Back" to be the first single off their new record.
"The reason why we take our time making records is everything is us—authentic. We would never put out something just to put it out," said Danielle. "We're really excited about this record. We spent all of our love points on this record, literally every single ounce of love and tears and sweat, everything that we have was put into this record."
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the band also revealed that they'd been working on the album with artists like Dev Hynes and Rostam Batmanglij. Something to Tell You drops on July 7 via Columbia Records. HAIM is scheduled to perform on Saturday Night Live on May 13. Listen to the single in the audio video, below.
