J.K. Rowling Drops Details About The “Eighth Harry Potter Story”
ominous!
Not to be outdone by Adele, Pottermore has gone and revealed the new artwork for the upcoming play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. This is the first new, official Harry Potter story in forever, and it is ominous. Coming to us in the form of a mini YouTube video, the art shows a lonely kid (the cursed child?!?!) sitting in bird's nest with Hunger Games-esque wings crowning it. Hmmm.
Soon after, J.K. Rowling took to Twitter to reveal some major details. Based on the information posted on Pottermore, we now know that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is officially the eighth story in the beloved series, because it takes place 19 years later. Harry and Ginny's second son, Albus Severus Potter, will be the prime focus in the story (the title most likely refers to him). Furthermore, the play will be split into two parts, and the cast consists of 30 actors.
Meant to be seen in the same day—as a matinee and an evening show or on back-to-back nights—the play's preview performances begin on July 7, 2016 and go on sale next week on October 30. So if you're still reading this, it's not too late (Drake reference).
