HEROINE CHIC

pow! wham! zonk! repetto!

by faran krentcil

Let's be honest - the cartoon character with the best style was Carmen Sandiego. Her trench coat was a dead ringer for Burberry's runway staple, her red lipstick was straight outta Chanel, and don't get us started on the fedora - paging Lou Doillon!

But comic heroes like Batman, Spiderman, and The Green Lantern had their place too, and besides influencing the exoskeletons seen on Gareth Pugh and Alexander McQueen's catwalks, they also showed the world that primary colors could be tough, modern, and a little bit dangerous.

Now it's DC's 75th Anniversary, and to celebrate, they've zoomed to their friends at Colette.  The Cool-for-All superstore in Paris recently debuted these Repetto flats, inspired by the DC comic stars that routinely save the world, but fused with the dainty style of Repetto's ballet class roots.

They're available for a limited time only, and function with jeans, black dresses, and even a small amount of kryptonite...if you dare.

About $200 at Colette.fr (yes, they ship internationally...)
