HEY MA

celebrating mother’s day with our favorite mom-daughter duos.

by ali hoffman

As you should already know, this sunday is mother's day.

But before you freak out and throw together some weird last-minute clay pot for your mom, we figured you might find inspiration in our favorite mother-daughter duos of all time. Or at the very least, you'll have fun looking at the pictures and procrastinating from actually getting your mother's day plans in order. Either way, we think it's win/win.

Check out our picks below! You're welcome.

Mother/Daughter: Mariel Hemingway and Dree Hemingway

Why we love them: From their relation to Ernest Hemingway, Mariel's starring role in Woody Allen's Manhattan, and Dree's unbeatable modeling resume (fronting campaigns for everyone from Chanel to H&M), the two collectively prevail in pretty much every world we're interested in.

What they should do for mother's day: Start a band--that way they'll make a name for themselves in music, and then they can fully take over the world.

Mother/Daughter: Blythe Danner and Gwyneth Paltrow

Why we love them: They're the most non-British British duo of all time. Plus, Shakespeare in Love and Meet the Parents

What they should do for mother's day: Probably go for high tea. Gwynie will likely want to go to some yogi-organic place, which Blythe will obviously find ghastly, so this plan might cause too much bickering.

Mother/Daughter: Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson

Why we love them: We have a strong feeling that whoever made up the saying "Blondes have more fun," was definitely referencing these two.

What they should do for mother's day: Hair highlights?

Mother/Daughter: Jane Birkin and Charlotte Gainsbourg

Why we love them: They define French cool.

What they should do for mother's day: Wear striped Saint James shirts and take polaroids of each other.
