Dr. Seuss Is A Nightmare In New ‘IT’ Trailer

Radar

A parody

Thinking back on it, Dr. Seuss' Cat in the Hat is pretty terrifying. He's a human-sized bipedal feline who looks like a Hot Topic mime and terrorizes creatures for his own pleasure. All fetishes aside, that sounds suspect for youthful camaraderie. But who can argue with a cute rhyme and saturated primary colors?

Unclear, but argue away when the Cat in the Hat is stripped of his whimsy and placed in the dark and damp world of the forthcoming IT remake.

Dom Harkin, an 18-year-old video filmmaker behind the But Without YouTube channel, reimagined IT's new trailer if Dr. Seuss' iconic character from the 2003 live-action were the creature haunting the town of Derry, Maine. Suddenly, the Cat in the Hat doesn't look all that friendly. In fact, he looks like a scary clown in cat drag.

What's that thing Dr. Seuss once wrote? Why fit in when you were born to stand out float? Yikes. Childhood ruined, or whatever.
