Jade Bird may have put a lot of work into her upcoming album, but the overall vibe is still carefree—which, she says, was inspired by musicians from the '60s. She explained why she draws influences from that decade specifically, saying, “There’s this unsaid cool in everything, everything’s so not trying.” She thinks that everyone wants to emulate that effortless attitude, especially now, when social media has us all working to “constantly try to make things look good.”
Watch above for our interview with Bird, and hear her perform in Lite Brite Neon Studio.
