Jaden Smith Is Teaming Up With G-Star For A Sustainable Denim Line

Coming this fall

Jaden Smith is a man of many talents. Not only has he made a name for himself as a talented musician and fashion icon, but he's also making waves as an environmentalist. As the co-founder of carbon footprint-reducing bottled water brand JUST and an outspoken vegetarian, he has dedicated himself to bettering the planet and working to change the environmentally damaging habits of others.

Now, it’s just been announced that Smith will soon be making his mark in the world of ethical fashion, teaming up with G-Star and the brand's “Head of Imagination,” Pharell Williams, to create an entirely sustainable line of denim.

G-Star has been at the forefront of sustainability in denim for some time now, introducing "the most sustainable jeans ever” for Spring 2018 and using recycled ocean trash in past collections. Smith had this to say in a statement released by the brand:

I was first brought into G-Star by Pharrell, someone who I respect and admire. What they have been doing with sustainable innovation recently has been so inspiring, especially with the launch of their most sustainable jeans ever. They are at the forefront of denim sustainability, on top of the denim game... G-Star is a great place for me to collaborate, learn, and make a positive impact on denim and fashion.

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to shop the line in time for next month’s Earth Day, so until the line launches, in Fall 2018, we’ll just continue to throw back bottles of JUST.

Check out a behind-the-scenes peek at the new line, below.
