J.K. Rowling Reveals The Name Of The North American Hogwartz School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry
we get our very own Hogwarts
Future witches and wizards of North America, rejoice! You're heading to Ilvermorny (pronounced Ill-ver-morn-ee). Yes, J.K. Rowling has at long last revealed the name of the Hogwarts of North America on Pottermore, the interactive site where Rowling has been revealing extra details about everyone's favorite wizarding world.
Luna Lovegood—er, Evanna Lynch—shared the exciting update at this year's Celebration of Harry Potter at the Universal Orlando Resort. While further details on Ilvermorny are still TBD (the site says they're "Coming Soon"), we've also learned where witches and wizards from other nations are heading. Brazilians will go to Castelobruxo, where they'll excel at herbology, while Japanese students will enroll at Mahoutokoro, where they'll get enchanted, color-changing robes. Um, we want.
Some big questions remain. Are we getting our acceptance letters via owl delivery? And what's our version of the Hogwarts Express? (Note to Rowling: please let there be a sweets-filled trolley car of some sort.) And, let's be real, can any wizarding school be as wonderful as Hogwarts?
You'll have to wait for more info, but in the meantime, get pumped by watching the latest trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them:
