Ever since Juicy Couture began its unexpected comeback last summer, we knew that the tracksuit, the sartorial staple of every early 2000s socialite, was back on the rise, in a big way. Once the brand announced they would be collaborating with Urban Outfitters on an exclusive collection earlier this year, our hearts (and our wallets) were brimming with joy.
While the original offering officially hit Urban Outfitters stores back in February (complete with a Tinashe-fronted campaign, because major), the second drop proves to be even better.
The first collection interpreted the iconic tracksuits with modern cuts and silhouettes (ahem, we’re looking at you, tracksuit-jumpsuit), and we even saw a revival of the terry cloth romper. Now, the collab is being taken in an entirely new direction.
This second coming is much more streetwear-inspired. Quite a few oversized patchwork cotton pieces—in the form of hoodie dresses, baggy sweatshorts, and sweatpants—are featured alongside the expected nostalgic throwbacks. Logo tube tops (yes, tube tops) and tees typical of the early aughts take on the brand’s original rhinestone gothic font, while other basics are printed with clever sayings, such as “Give Juicy A Chance” and “All You Need Is Juicy,” reminiscent of the ones we used to see on tees, sweaters, and handbags of the past.
While this cozy new loungewear is a total dream for the jet setter (or, like, the couch potato), it’s totally appropriate—and cute enough—for everyday wear. Oh, and the entire collection ranges from $28 to $169, making our dream tracksuit way more accessible than OG Juicy Couture. Tracksuits for all!
