Justin Bieber & Jaden Smith Performed “Never Say Never”

They revived the 2010 song in concert

Six years ago, a very young Justin Bieber and a baby Jaden Smith took to the studio to record one of teenage music's most inspirational songs of that year: "Never Say Never." It soundtracked Smith's The Karate Kid and became the titular track to Bieber's first concert film. Last night, the pair reunited to remind the world of the gloriousness that was their artistic union.

During his last North American Purpose tour stop, Bieber began to sing his iconic hit. Predictably, the song was a lot different. His voice has matured, his style has changed exponentially, and his stage presence has evolved from heavily choreographed routines to bouncing about. Then, he brought Smith out. Smith, who has dropped a bevy of amazing tracks in the six years since the original was released, brought the song to another level. Their work done, Smith and Bieber ended the performance with a heartfelt embrace before Smith walked off stage. It was beautiful, it was understated, and it was everything good about nostalgia. And, of course, it was all recorded. Watch it and revisit the original below.
