Kaia Gerber Designed A Capsule Collection With Karl Lagerfeld
Fingerless gloves and logo hoodies? Yes, please!
Kaia Gerber is launching a capsule collaboration with iconic designer Karl Lagerfeld, because who else would Cindy Crawford’s daughter team up with but the Chanel creative director? The pair has a solid working relationship already—the 16-year-old model has opened the French house's shows and starred in the brand’s campaigns—but this is the duo's first personal collab. Of course, it’s a perfect mesh of their aesthetics.
According to WWD, who dropped the news, the line of ready-to-wear clothing, jewelry, footwear, and sunglasses will be perfect to wear during the day or dress up for going out. The designs mix Lagerfeld’s Parisian roots with Gerber’s low-key, SoCal aesthetic. So, yeah, the whole collection is going to be Insta-bait (in the best way). Logomania sweatshirts with both of their names emblazoned on them, tuxedo blazers, cutout dresses, crop tops, and, of course, fingerless gloves make up only some of the collection, which will go on sale later this month.
Gerber expressed her excitement to work with Lagerfeld in a statement posted to the brand’s website, saying,“I have loved being a part of the creative process and working with Karl is a dream.”
The collection launches on August 30.
