act the cool.

Karen Walker is the definition of cool. Case in point: Her endless supply of highly covetable sunnies, bags, and clothing that, somehow, get more awesome season after season--same goes for the hair, makeup, and nails seen backstage.

The makeup, crafted by key makeup artist Benjamin Puckey for Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, was '60s perfection: Major cat eyes using OCC Tarred Cosmetic Color Pencil and Tarred Gel Liner, flushed cheeks and peachy keen lips using Psycho, Kava Kava, and Clockwork Lip Tars, and OCC Tinted Moisturizer mixed with OCC Skin Conceal on the face.

Laurent Philippon, lead hair stylist for Bumble and Bumble, crafted punk meets Victorian tresses, full of texture, but not too big. "The Karen Walker girl this season is definitely an urban girl who has an urban life with a lot of things to do, and is very style conscious, but doesn't have time to do her hair," Philippon tells me, "It's all about reflecting an attitude." Philippon started by back combing the back of the head, then flat ironing and brushing it out so it doesn't actually look back combed, but rather gives volume and texture to the hair with a mix of Semi Sumo wax and hair powder.

The nail, by the genius Jin Soon Choi, was a delicate grey-white color using Jin Soon's Power Coat base coat, two coats of Kookie White, and then sealed with Top Gloss top coat.
