If you’ve ever tried shopping for a pair of completely vegan and cruelty-free shoes, you know the struggle in finding a stylish option that’s also affordable. Lucky for us, animal rights activist Kat Von D has come to the rescue. The tattoo artist-turned-beauty mogul has a brand-new venture on her hands: Von D, her very own line of footwear. And, you guessed it, the lineup will be 100 percent free of animal leather, fur, and animal-derived glue.
She first teased the line this past July by posting one of the prototypes, a red patent Mary Jane. Now that Von D has its own Instagram account, we’ve gotten a peek at two more styles—faux croc peep-toes and metallic red sky-high platforms—and they’re just as vampy and gothic as we expected.
According to Hello Giggles, the new line is gearing up to launch soon, with 28 styles total, and there's a pair of boots with a secret lipstick compartment (because, duh). In addition to ensuring her line is vegan and cruelty-free like Kat Von D Beauty, she’s also making sure it’s inclusive. There will be a selection of unisex styles, and the entire line will be available in sizes 5 through 12.
