Kelly Rowland Is Launching A Makeup Line For Women Of Color

“Gotta get the chocolate girls in there”

Kelly Rowland has just announced some exciting news. The Grammy Award-winning singer is launching a makeup line with her makeup artist Sheika Daley—who works with other high-profile celebs such as Nicki Minaj—for women of color.

Inspired by the likes of Iman, who has her own collection of beauty for women of darker skin, Rowland told Essence, “Gotta get the chocolate girls in there. We have to have that, you know? I think Iman has done a beautiful makeup line and I want to do it too.”

While there definitely has been progress in the beauty industry, when it comes to diverse products for women, there’s still much room for improvement, and we expect Rowland’s new line to help fill that void. The collection is currently in the works, starting with lashes and with further plans to expand. There’s no word on a launch date or the price points just yet, but we’ll be anxiously awaiting it.

This isn’t the only big news for the M&M'S loving artist—she’s also in the process of working on a new album and a book. Talk about a being busy.
