Kevin Hart Gave Tiffany Haddish Money When She Was Living In Her Car

A reminder to friends to help your friends

Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish play alongside each other in the upcoming movie Night School, but the two were friends long before they became big Hollywood names.

While on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Hart recalled the time he helped out the Girls Trip actress when he found out she was living in her car. He gave her $300, which helped her get a motel room and, eventually, her own apartment. “I was like here, I don’t know what your situation is, but hopefully this can do something for you in this time,” Hart told the late-night host. Fast-forward to today and Hart cast Haddish in their new movie. “We’ve come full circle,” Hart says.

Haddish has told the story a couple of times and says that Hart also encouraged her to write down her goals and start doing something every day toward making them happen. "I wrote: Get myself an apartment. Do these things, all these people I wanna work with, everything," she said in an interview with Vanity Fair. "I pretty much tackled almost all those goals." She adds that Hart won’t let her pay him back, even though we all know she’s good for it at this point. He told her: “I don’t want that money. You keep that money. If I need you to be in something else, you just make sure you can do it.”

Let this be a lesson to all: A little support goes a long way.
