Lana Del Rey Covering Andrew Lloyd Webber Is The Surprise We Needed

She must love us

Good day to everyone but especially Lana Del Rey. For, she covered "You Must Love Me" from Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic musical Evita. No, I'm not crying... you are.

LDR is one of the artists to be featured on the composer's forthcoming compilation LP, Unmasked: The Platinum Collection. Set to be released around the icon's 70 birthday, Unmasked includes new renditions of old hits and some new material, as well. "Andrew Lloyd Webber has been one of my primary inspirations in music, so to do a cover of one of his songs is a dream," the "Young & Beautiful" singer says in a statement. "I especially love this particular song, 'You Must Love Me,' because of how unique the melody is." Del Rey says everything Webber has done, from The Phantom of the Opera to Evita has inspired her. Who knew she was such a Broadway buff?

Anyway, listen to her rendition, below. It's the tender sister to Madonna's impassioned take of the same song from 1996.
