A Louis Vuitton X Grace Coddington Collaboration Is Coming

And it’s cat-inspired, obviously

by Jenna Igneri

Last night at Fondation Maeght, a modern art museum in the south of France, Nicolas Ghesquière presented Louis Vuitton's Cruise 2019 collection.

Amongst the newness—which notably included a futuristic over-the-knee interpretation of the Archlight (the grandpa sneaker to end all grandpa sneakers) and truly outrageous beauty looks—was something very, very exciting: a collaboration with none other than legendary Vogue editor and stylist Grace Coddington. And why yes, there were cats involved.

The self-proclaimed cat lover, who was seated front row in a pair of LV-printed pajamas dotted with cat illustrations, designed a collection of accessories for this collection. The pieces aimed to capture both her and Ghesquière’s love for animals, featuring bags designed with her own drawings of her cats, Pumpkin and Blanket, and Ghesquiere’s dog. Jennifer Connelly read quotes from Coddington’s memoir over the show’s soundtrack and models resembling the icon—bushy red hair and all—made their way down the runway.

Which one will become the next It Bag carried by fashion’s elite? We’ll just have to wait and see.
