If there was ever any doubt that light and joy and all things good in the world could be manifested into one sovereign being, well, it was expelled as soon as Lupita Nyong'o glided into the public consciousness. Since her first red carpet appearance for 12 Years a Slave, the Yale graduate has graced us with many memorable gowns. And today is no different. The actress made her Cannes 2015 debut in a vibrant emerald green Gucci Première custom number, inspired by the women of Uganda. Accessorized with diamond drop Chopard earrings and an embellished tiara-like headband and her signature twirl, Nyong'o stole the show.
It's only day one of the Cannes Film Festival and yet, everyone may as well just go home—or skip the red carpet, at the very least—because we all know who already locked down the best dressed spot.
