Margot Robbie Is Unrecognizable As Saoirse Ronan’s Rival In New Trailer
‘Mary Queen Of Scots’ will tackle the battle between Mary Stuart and Elizabeth I
As if they didn't already dominate last year's awards season, Margot Robbie and Saoirse Ronan are back with a vengeance. This time though, the Best Actress nominees are teaming up to star in a new movie. And it’s got some serious award potential.
In the new trailer for Mary Queen of Scots, Ronan plays Scottish royal, Mary Stuart. After the death of her husband, Mary decides to return to Scotland to reclaim her throne. However, she soon finds herself at odds with her cousin, Queen of England, Elizabeth I (Robbie). Despite agreeing to coexist peacefully, things are soon complicated by the men around them—leading to an all-out battle between the two. It's a story that continues to fascinate historians five centuries later, because, as Robbie tells Entertainment Weekly, “It’s complicated, it’s tragic, and it’s bizarre. The only other person in the world who could understand the position they were in was each other.”
Mary Queen of Scots comes to select theaters on December 7. Take a look at the trailer, below.
