mani monday: milani color statement

nylon editors pick their faves.

by Yasmeen Gharnit

As a greedy little five-year-old, I had a major hoarding problem. Any and every time I went to CVS, I had to get at least three Bon Bon nail polishes—those miniature watered-down glosses were my kryptonite and at only $1 a bottle, I was able to justify contributing 100% of my budget (i.e. allowance) to feed my gluttonous inclinations.

Thankfully I've lightened up since then, picking and choosing carefully between luxury nail polishes and the drugstore brands I still hold so close to my heart. Because when it comes down to it, quality and color aren't dependent on price, or an iconic name printed on the bottle.

Exhibit A: Milani's new Color Statement nail lacquers, which provide the richest, most pigmented formula the brand has ever created. Available at $4 per bottle and in 37 different cream, sheer, and metallic shades, they're a major steal. And because we know how hard it is to narrow down your selection, we had some of our editors pick their faves.

Jade Taylor, Beauty Editor: Silhouette and Lovely Amethyst.

Blair Waters, NYLON TV Executive Producer: Enchanting and Gilded Rocks.

Liza Darwin, Digital Editorial Director: Mint Crush and Imperial Purple.

Jackie Yaeger, Newsletter Manager + City Editor: Blue Print and Gold Plated.

Yasmeen Gharnit, Digital Editorial Assistant: Peri-wink and Frenchie Sheer.
