beauty queen: miranda kerr

the supermodel is in the red.

You know Miranda Kerr's makeup looks good when the entire office spends about 10 minutes dissecting it. And by dissecting it we mean breaking down the supermodel's exact eyeshadow color.

Kerr stopped by the Unbound Access event yesterday in New York City, working a colored smokey eye that perfectly complemented her brick red lips. And while we may not have reached a conclusion on the technical shade (Burnt Sienna? Auburn? Jasper?) that's OK. See how to copy her look below, and if you really want to know, then feel free to browse the Wikipedia colors page afterwards...

MIX IT: Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Pure Cosmic Pigment, $14 and Makeup Forever Diamond Shadow, $21

Swirl the tiniest bit of OCC's pure pigment together with this peachy, shimmery shade in order to replicate Kerr's hard-to-pinpoint red hue. Run the shadow brush (we love this one from Sephora!) all over your lid, extending past the crease and the outer edges. Don't be worried if it's not perfect--a sheer wash of color is the result you're going for.

BRUSH IT: Sephora Pro Smudge Brush, $18

Using the same eyeshadow mixture, dip this brush and run it softly under the lower lash line, focusing on the outer edges.

SWIPE IT: Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Majella, $25

Finish things off with a layer of this super-moisturizing lipcolor.
