Moschino’s MFW Show Was A Garden Party Filled With Biker Ballerinas

With a sprinkling of ‘My Little Pony’

by Jenna Igneri

Jeremy Scott never fails to surprise us each season—whether for his namesake label or for Moschino—and, in keeping with that, last night's show in Milan was quite the spectacle.

Moschino's Spring 2018 runway presentation opened with a smattering of biker ballerinas, with models sporting tulle or feathered tutus paired with leather moto jackets and bustiers, studded newsboy caps, and tons of punk-inspired jewelry, with chains and leather dom chokers galore.

Known for also pulling on our nostalgic heartstrings season after season (remember that Barbie-themed collection for Spring 2015?), this collection featured a collaboration with none other than My Little Pony. A handful of models paired their ballerina gear with tees, sweatshirts, and vintage-style tin lunch boxes (!) emblazoned with My Little Pony imagery, which, lucky for us, we don't have to wait until spring to buy.

However, a little more than halfway through the show, things took a much softer turn. Garden nymphs were brought to life as models blossomed into an array of flowers—in some cases, literally. From a calla lily-inspired ball gown and a skirt made entirely of rosebuds to Kaia Gerber and Gigi Hadid closing the show dressed as actual bouquets, it was an epic display of fantasy, to say the least.

Below, take a closer look at our favorite looks from the collection.
